«The Counterpane Fairy» in English with a Parallel Translation

A little boy recovering from a long illness is entertained by the visits of the Veil Fairy, who tells him stories related to each of the squares of the veil on his hospital bed. She asks him to focus on one of the squares until it turns into something like a door to history. Once inside the story, he becomes its protagonist until it all disappears, as if he wakes up from a dream.
