This collection of Dostoevsky's writings demonstrates that the author is as good at writing short stories as he is at writing novels. In this collection, Dostoevsky addresses many of the topics already covered by him in his bigger books. Nevertheless, Dostoevsky amazes us with his diversity, as there are both the lovely and romantic story "White Nights" and his famous story "Notes from Underground" mainly devoted to the issues of guilt and uncompromising cynicism.
