«Sister Carrie» in English with a Parallel Translation

Sister Carrie is a 1900 novel by the American writer Theodore Dreiser. This is a story about a girl Carrie, whose real name is Caroline. She arrives to the big city to try her luck and become an actress, but the new place is hostile to her from very beginning. Trying to fix her affairs, she has to become a mistress of Drouet, a travelling salesman. A lot of troubles and trials lie ahead of her on the way to her dream.
