"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Summary"

Part 1, Act I, Scene 1

Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley-Potter, and their three children arriving at King's Cross station. The children are James, Albus Severus, and Lily. James starts teasing Albus about the possibility of him being sorted into Slytherin house at Hogwarts, which worries Albus. The family passes through the magical barrier into platform nine and three-quarters.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 2

The Potters meet the Granger-Weasley family, which includes Ron, Hermione, and their children Rose and Hugo. Albus confides in Harry about his concerns regarding being sorted into Slytherin, as he associates the house with Dark Magic. Harry reminds Albus that he was named after two headmasters of Hogwarts, one of whom was a Slytherin and a brave man. Harry reassures Albus that the Sorting Hat takes a person's feelings into account. This is something Harry has never told anyone else before. The parents see James, Albus, and Rose off onto the Hogwarts Express and leave quickly due to people staring at them.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 3

On the Hogwarts Express, Rose tells Albus that they need to focus on choosing their friends, just like their parents did on their first train ride to school. Albus finds the idea of having to choose "friends for life" intimidating, but Rose is excited because their famous parents will give them many options. Albus and Rose enter a compartment where they

meet Scorpius Malfoy. Albus is friendly towards Scorpius, but Rose is not because Scorpius's parents had a difficult relationship with her parents. Scorpius confesses that there is a rumor about him being Voldemort's illegitimate son conceived with a Time-Turner, although he denies it. Rose decides to find another compartment, but Albus chooses to stay with Scorpius, which angers Rose. The boys share Scorpius's stash of sweets.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 4

In the Great Hall at Hogwarts, Rose is sorted into Gryffindor, while Scorpius and Albus are sorted into Slytherin, surprising everyone. During a flying lesson, Rose displays natural talent, while Albus performs poorly and becomes the subject of mockery from his classmates. Before their second year at Hogwarts, Albus asks Harry to stand apart from him because he believes himself to be a disappointing son and dislikes beingstared at. Draco Malfoy approaches Harry and asks him to address the rumors about Scorpius's parentage by confirming that all the Time-Turners were destroyed during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, but Harry advises Draco to ignore the rumors. On the train, Rose distances herself from Albus as soon as Scorpius approaches, and their friendship becomes a pretense only in front of their parents. Back in the Great Hall, Rose is announced as the newest member of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and Scorpius applauds her. In a Potions lesson, Albus makes a mistake with a potion, leading to jeers from his classmates. Once again at platform nine and three-quarters, Albus burns his permission slip to visit Hogsmeade, expressing his hatred for any place with Hogwarts students. Harry expresses concern over reports of Albus's isolation and surly behavior at school, but Albus dismisses these concerns and runs off to meet Scorpius. Scorpius informs Albus that his mother has passed away and asks Albus to attend the funeral and be his good friend. In the Great Hall, Lily is sorted into Gryffindor, disappointing Albus, but Scorpius is not surprised and comments that Potters don't belong in Slytherin. Albus asserts that he does belong in Slytherin and responds to the laughter of other students by stating that he didn't choose to be Harry Potter's son.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 5

Harry arriving at the Ministry of Magic office, where Hermione is waiting for him. Harry shows Hermione an illegal Time-Turner that was seized from a Death-Eater named Theodore Nott, a former follower of Voldemort. Harry questions why Hermione is in his office, and she mildly scolds him for leaving paperwork pending as the Head of Magical Law Enforcement. As the Minister for Magic, she nudges him to complete his work. They discuss their children and express the feeling of falling short in parenting due to their busy Ministry jobs. Harry asks Hermione if the Time-Turner's existence could mean something, and she confirms that it's possible. They both agree that if there is a threat, they will find a way to fight it as they always have.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 6

Albus is hidden on the stairs at his house and overhears a conversation. Amos Diggory, a wheelchair-bound wizard, has come to visit Harry. Amos heard rumors about the Ministry finding a Time-Turner, and he asks Harry to use itto bring back his deceased son, Cedric, whom he blames Harry for. Harry denies the rumors and apologizes for being unable to help Amos.

While eavesdropping, Albus is startled by Delphi Diggory, Amos's niece and caretaker, who discovers him on the stairs. They engage in a conversation, and Delphi invites Albus to visit her at the old-age home where she lives with Amos. She leaves to take Amos home, and as Amos leaves, he calls Harry a "stone-cold Ministry man."

Part 1, Act I, Scene 7

Harry visits Albus in his room to give him some gifts before the new school year begins. Ron has sent Albus a love potion, and Harry gives him an old blanket that he was wrapped in when he was left on the Dursleys' doorstep, the only thing he has from his mother. Albus callously rejects the gift and taunts Harry about his past. They get into a fight, and Harry confesses that sometimes he wishes Albus weren't his son. Harry immediately apologizes, but Albus throws the blanket away and storms out of the room. The love potion spills onto the discarded blanket.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 8

In a dream sequence, Harry relives the moment he discovered he was a wizard. On his 11th birthday, Hagrid visits him at the Hut-on-the-Rock where the Dursleys were hiding and tells him that he is a wizard and will be attending Hogwarts. The dream ends with Harry's name being whispered in Voldemort's voice.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 9

Harry wakes up from the nightmare, and Ginny, who was also awakened, attributes Harry's distress to his fight with Albus. Ginny tells Harry that all Albus needs is for him to be honest. Suddenly, Harry's scar starts to hurt, which hasn't happened in 22 years. Ginny and Harry become worried about this.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 10

Rose approaches Albus on the Hogwarts Express and informs him about the rumors of the Ministry seizing an illegal Time-Turner. Albus realizes that Rose's sudden attempts to be friendly are influenced by their parents' request and asks her to leave him alone.

Albus finds Scorpius and tells him that they need to leave the train. He plans to find and use the Time-Turner to save Cedric Diggory, who was killed by Voldemort during the Triwizard Tournament years ago. Albus believes that Harry lied to Amos about the Time-Turner because he doesn't care about what happened to Cedric. Albus wantsto correct what he sees as Harry's mistake. He climbs out of a window, and Scorpius follows him.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 11

Albus and Scorpius find themselves on the roof of the Hogwarts Express and encounter the Trolley Witch, who is responsible for selling food on the train. The Trolley Witch reveals that her duty is to prevent students from leaving the train, a role she has successfully fulfilled for

the past two centuries. Albus and Scorpius manage to jump off the roof and escape from her.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 12

Hermione and Harry address a large gathering of witches and wizards in the Grand Meeting Room at the Ministry of Magic. Ginny, Ron, and Draco are also present. They inform the gathering that Voldemort's allies have started to become active again, and Harry's scar has been hurting once more. Draco dismisses this as Harry's attempt to draw attention to himself and suggests that Hermione became Minister due to her friendship with Harry, which angers Ron. Draco, frustrated by the circumstances that will lead to people gossiping about his son, declares the meeting a sham and storms out. Despite Hermione's attempts to call the crowd back, they disperse.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 13

She points out that Albus and Scorpius are the only ones volunteering to assist them. Amos questions Albus's motives for putting himself at risk, to which Albus responds by mentioning that he understands what it's like to be the "spare." Albus reiterates that they are prepared to risk their lives, although Scorpius is less certain. Delphini agrees to accompany the boys on their mission.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 15

At the Potters' house, Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione discuss Draco's reaction during the meeting, attributing it to his grief over losing his

wife. Ron suggests that Harry's scar hurting could be due to his age. However, Hermione and Ginny express fear at the possibility that some part of Voldemort might have survived. Hermione refuses to deny the situation, as Cornelius Fudge did when Voldemort first returned. They receive a letter from Hogwarts informing them thatHarry and Scorpius have not arrived at the school.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 16

Albus, Scorpius, and Delphini consume Polyjuice Potion, allowing them to transform their appearances to resemble Ron, Harry, and Hermione, respectively. Disguised in this manner, they enter the Ministry of Magic.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 17

Harry, Ginny, Draco, and Hermione gather in a meeting room at the Ministry to discuss the disappearance of the children. Ginny and Harry realize that Albus and Scorpius have run away, attributing it to the fight Harry had with Albus. Draco is furious and offers the Ministry a substantial amount of gold, desperate to find his son. Hermione refuses the bribe, and Draco angrily leaves, calling Harry a curse on his family.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 18

Albus, Scorpius, and Delphini make their way to Hermione's office, where Delphini knows the Time-Turner is hidden. They hear Harry and Hermione approaching, prompting Delphini and Scorpius to quickly enter the office while Albus, disguised as Ron, blocks Harry and Hermione from entering. Albus successfully prevents them from entering, making Hermione believe that "Ron" has played a prank by leaving stink pellets in her office.

Part 1, Act I, Scene 19

Inside Hermione's office, the trio discovers that she has hidden the Time-Turner among her books. The books have been enchanted and start speaking, simultaneously offering riddles about the Time-Turner's

location and attempting to swallow Albus, Scorpius, and Delphini. Albus and Delphini get pulled into the shelves but are eventually released as Scorpius solves the riddles and finds the Time-Turner.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 1

In a dream sequence, Harry relives a childhood memory from before he knew about magic. Aunt Petunia scolds a young Harry for his poor domestic work and shames him for wetting the bed. Young Harry tries to explain a nightmare he had about his parents' death, mentioning his mother's screams, a hissing snake, and a man's voice uttering strange words. However, Aunt Petunia insists that his parents died in a car crash. The setting distorts, and trees rise around young Harry. Albus appears and looks at him, and Voldemort's voice whispers Harry's name.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 2

Ginny enters the room as Harry wakes up from his nightmare. He tells her about hearing Voldemort's voice and seeing Albus at the end, dressed in robes from Durmstrang School. Harry knows where Albus is.

Harry and Ginny inform Professor McGonagall, the Headmistress, aboutthe dream and their belief that Albus is in the Forbidden Forest that borders the school grounds. Hermione, Ron, and Draco also arrive, and the group proceeds to the Forest to search for the boys.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 4

Albus and Delphini practice a Disarming Spell on the edge of the forest, and Scorpius feels unsettled by their growing closeness. Albus and Delphini plan to travel back in time to the Triwizard Tournament and interfere with Cedric's performance in the first task. Scorpius is hesitant about traveling so far back without a trial run, but Delphini dismisses his concerns due to the lack of time. Delphini gives both boys Durmstrang robes to disguise themselves when they arrive in the past. They agree

that Delphini should stay behind as she cannot blend in as a student. Delphini reluctantly agrees and kisses Albus on both cheeks before leaving.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 5

Harry encounters Bane, a centaur, in the forest while searching for Albus. Harry asks for Bane's help, and Bane reveals that he has seen Albus in the "movement of the stars." Bane warns Harry that a "black cloud" surrounds Albus, which could pose a danger to everyone. Harry is determined to find him again but acknowledges the possibility of losing him forever.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 6

Albus and Scorpius find themselves in a clearing in the Forbidden Forest, admiring a magnificent view of the school. Scorpius expresses his lifelong desire to come to Hogwarts and find friends, just like Harry Potter, and he feels incredibly fortunate to have found Albus as his best friend. Albus reciprocates the deep friendship he feels for Scorpius. They hear Ron's voice approaching and quickly use the Time-Turner, causing the setting to change as time reverses.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 7

Albus and Scorpius arrive at the scene of the first task of the Triwizard Tournament. They witness the announcement of the competitors from each participating school and the details of the task, which involves retrieving a golden egg from a dragon's nest. They have a brief conversation with a young Hermione before Cedric emerges to compete. Scorpius notices the Time-Turner ticking strangely, and just as Albus disarms Cedric and takes his wand, the ticking reaches a crescendo. The boys are then transported back to the present, but Albus is in pain. Harry, Ginny, Draco, and Ron, who is dressed differently, swarm in on them, andAlbus collapses.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 8

Albus wakes up, and Harry expresses his concern and the worry everyone had during his disappearance. Albus lies about where they went, claiming that he and Scorpius had planned to escape to the Muggle world and start over. Harry believes that Scorpius influenced this plan and orders Albus to stay away from him. Harry is convinced that Dark Magic is resurfacing and wants to keep Albus safe from Scorpius. Despite Albus's protests, Harry decides to use the Marauder's Map to keep an eye on him. Albus is no longer allowed to have lessons with Scorpius, and outside of class, he must remain in the Gryffindor common room. When Albus points out that he is in Slytherin, Harry becomes angry and accuses Albus of playing games. Harry concludes that Albus doesn't need to like him for him to be a good father; Albus only needs to obey him.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 9

While Albus argues with Harry, Ron enters the scene. Ron is muted, sober, and dressed differently, with more conservative attire. Albus is surprised to learn that Ron doesn't run a joke shop and is not married to Hermione. In this different reality, Ron's wife is Padma, and they have a son named Panju. As Ron leaves, Scorpius arrives and is relieved to see that Albus is alright. Harry rushes Albus away, not allowing them to have a conversation. Albus eventually relents and tells Scorpius that they will be better off without each other as he walks away.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 10

In Professor McGonagall's office, Harry insists that she use the Marauder's Map to watch Albus and ensure he stays away from Scorpius. McGonagall feels uneasy about this and is unsure whether Harry should fully trust Bane's words or Dumbledore's advice from the portrait. However, Harry is relentless and harshly demandsthat McGonagall comply. He threatens to involve the Ministry if she refuses. Ginny is unsettled by the person Harry is becoming.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 11

Albus attends a Defense Against the Dark Arts class and is surprised to find that Hermione is the teacher. However, Hermione is bitter and mean, taking away multiple points from Gryffindor when Albus asks about Rose, who doesn't exist in this reality. She resumes the lesson after her harsh response.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 12

Albus and Scorpius cross paths on one of Hogwarts' magical, moving staircases. A teacher enters and signals for them to separate. The boys do so silently, their unhappiness evident.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 13

At home, Harry and Ginny are on the verge of an argument when they hear a knock on the door. Ginny goes to answer it and lets Draco in. Draco confronts Harry about keeping their sons apart, explaining that Scorpius is miserable. Harry responds with an insinuation that he doubts Scorpius's parentage. A duel ensues between Draco and Harry, which is interrupted by Ginny's return to the room.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 14

Delphini secretly visits Scorpius at Hogwarts and expresses her fascination with the school, having never attended herself. She informs Scorpius that their attempt to change history using the Time-Turner didn't work. Although they altered some events, Cedric still died because failing the first task only made him more determined to succeed in the subsequent ones. Delphini also wants to help Scorpius reconcile with Albus, knowing that Albus is miserable. She believes that the boys "belong together."

Part 1, Act II, Scene 15

In the aftermath of their fight, Draco apologizes to Ginny for the state of the room. Draco opens up to Harry, revealing that he had always envied Harry's friendships with Ron and Hermione. His lack of genuine

friendships during his upbringing, combined with his troubled relationship with his father, led Draco to a dark and lonely place for a long time. Draco suggests that Tom Riddle, who became Lord Voldemort, was similarly alone, and his failure to emerge from that darkness resulted in his transformation. Draco advises Harry not to lose Albus, emphasizing that Albus needs Harry and Scorpius in his life. Upon hearing this, Harry stops to contemplate and then prepares to leave the house.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 16

Scorpius sneaks up on Albus in the Hogwarts library to havea private conversation. They discuss the changes in the new reality, particularly the fact that Rose was never born due to their interference. Their brief conversation with Hermione in the past caused her to mistrust the Durmstrang students, leading her to decline Viktor Krum's invitation to the Christmas Yule Ball. Instead, Ron attended the ball with Padma Patil, whom he later married. Ron's jealousy over Hermione and Krum, which played a significant role in bringing Ron and Hermione together originally, is absent in this reality. Scorpius is deeply disturbed by the absence of Rose.

Albus suggests going back and fixing things, but Scorpius believes they will only make matters worse. A struggle ensues as they wrestle for possession of the Time-Turner. Scorpius becomes angry and accuses Albus of caring only about his relationship with Harry, claiming that his own life has been much worse and that Albus is a terrible friend.

Professor McGonagall hears the commotion and investigates. Albus quickly hides both of them under the invisibility cloak he stole from James. McGonagall senses their presence but decides to leave them be. Albus apologizes to Scorpius for his past behavior and expresses gratitude for his kindness and friendship. They share a heartfelt hug. Together, they decide to travel back to the scene of the second task and humiliate Cedric in order to save him from death.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 17

In the new reality, Ron and Hermione encounter each other on one of

the Hogwarts staircases. They have an awkward interaction, discussing Albus's belief that they are married and have a daughter. They part ways, exchanging lingering looks as they go.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 18

Draco, Harry, Ginny, and McGonagall arrive at Professor McGonagall's office. McGonagall starts to express her reluctance to keep the boys apart, and Harry apologizes for their previous conversation. Both Harry and Draco express their desire to see their sons. The group consults the Marauder's Map, which reveals that the boys are together in the first-floor girls' bathroom.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 19

In the girls' bathroom, Albus and Scorpius practice an Engorgement Charm as Albus reveals his plan to Scorpius. They plan to interfere with the second task by using the charm to enlarge Cedric's head, causing him to float out of the lake instead of completing the task underwater.

Scorpius questions how they will reach the lake before they travel back in time, and at that moment, MoaningMyrtle, the ghost of a girl who died in the bathroom, appears before them. Albus and Scorpius explain their plan to save Cedric and ask for Myrtle's help in getting to the lake. Myrtle shows them a sink that connects directly to the lake. The boys consume Gillyweed, a plant that enables them to breathe underwater, and dive into the sink.

As Albus and Scorpius leave, Harry, Ginny, Draco, and McGonagall arrive and wonder how the boys are disappearing from the map. Myrtle describes the "trinket" they are using and reveals Albus's plan to save Cedric. Harry realizes that Albus may have overheard his conversation with Amos and that the boys are time-traveling.

Part 1, Act II, Scene 20

During the final Triwizard Tournament, the four champions are engrossed in the second task. Albus and Scorpius decide to play a prank on Cedric by using an Engorgement Charm, causing his bubble-head to

inflate, resulting in a rather embarrassing and comical situation as he floats out of the lake. Feeling victorious, Albus and Scorpius swim back up to the surface, but suddenly, everything turns dark. When Scorpius regains his senses, he finds himself in the present, but Albus is nowhere to be found.

Whispers in Parseltongue surround Scorpius, uttering "He's coming." Dolores Umbridge, the ex-Ministry official who is now the Headmistress of Hogwarts, appears. When Scorpius asks for her help to save Albus, she denies the existence of such a student, stating that Harry Potter is dead. Voldemort's voice can be heard whispering "Harry Potter" in the background, and Dementors appear on the scene. Umbridge scolds Scorpius for upsetting the Dementors and ruining "Voldemort Day," urging him to leave.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 1

Scorpius enters Umbridge's office, dressed in darker robes and appearing pensive yet alert. Umbridge initially praises Scorpius for his Pureblood lineage, leadership skills, and athleticism, surprising Scorpius. She mentions his work in "flushing out the more dilettante students" to the Augurey, a magical bird. However, Umbridge expresses concern about Scorpius's recent behavior since emerging from the lake. He has been obsessively asking questions about Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory. Scorpius assures Umbridge that it was a temporary aberration, and she dismisses him with a salute and the slogan "For Voldemort and Valour," which Scorpius tries to imitate.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 2

Scorpius is greeted enthusiastically by fellow students on the school grounds, who refer to him as the "Scorpion King." Polly Chapman, a popular girl, asks Scorpius to the "Blood Ball," claiming that they are "making a future" togetheras the Augurey insists. In the background, there is screaming, and Scorpius learns that Mudbloods(wizards and witches born to non-magical parents) are being tortured in the school dungeons, supposedly based on his suggestion. Before leaving, Polly repeats the slogan "For Voldemort and Valour."

Part 2, Act III, Scene 3

Scorpius visits Draco in his office at the Ministry, where Draco is now the Head of Magical Law Enforcement. The room is decorated with Augurey-emblazoned flags. Draco scolds Scorpius for being late and questioning him about Harry Potter. Scorpius confronts Draco about his involvement in the violence against Mudbloods, mentioning that his mother always believed Draco was a better man. Draco reacts violently but quickly composes himself, denying any involvement and questioning whether Astoria truly thought highly of him. Scorpius affirms this and questions what the Malfoys have become. Draco comments on Scorpius's newfound interest in Harry Potter, and Scorpius reveals that he has seen himself in a different way. Draco acknowledges the influence of Astoria in Scorpius and bids him to stay safe. They bid farewell, repeating the Voldemort slogan.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 4

Scorpius visits the Hogwarts library in search of answers about the altered reality in history books. He encounters Craig Bowker Jr., who apologizes for not having Scorpius's Potions homework ready yet. Scorpius reveals that he has bullied Craig into doing his homework for him. During their conversation, Scorpius learns that Severus Snape, previously deceased, is now the Potions master.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 5

Scorpius enters the Potions classroom with excitement, eager to meet Snape. Initially dismissive, Snape becomes wary when Scorpius asks about working undercover for Dumbledore. However, Scorpius reveals the events involving the Time-Turner and Cedric Diggory. Snape discloses that in this altered reality, Cedric killed only one wizard - Neville Longbottom. Neville played a crucial role in Harry's victory in the Battle of Hogwarts, and his death in this reality led to Harry's death and Voldemort's triumph.

Thinking that Scorpius is playing a game, Snape turns him away. However, Scorpius quotes Snape's deepest secret - his love for Harry's

mother, which he had kept hidden for years. This revelation deeply moves Snape, and he agrees to help Scorpius. He leads Scorpius through a concealed door into a secret room where people are living in hiding.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 6

Scorpius is confronted by a warrior-like Hermione, and Snape vouches for Scorpius, ensuring that he is now ontheir side. Ron enters the scene and is initially alarmed to see Scorpius. However, Snape insists that Ron and Hermione listen to Scorpius's story.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 7

Ron and Hermione, although slightly incredulous, agree to assist Scorpius. They are the only remaining members of the original resistance group against Voldemort known as "Dumbledore's Army." Ron and Hermione are astonished and pleasantly unsettled when they learn about their roles and marital partners in Scorpius's world. Snape deduces that he is deceased based on Scorpius's extreme surprise at encountering Snape in the Potions classroom earlier.

Snape suggests that only he accompanies Scorpius, as it is too risky for Hermione and Ron to be seen. However, Hermione insists that they join in, as they are willing to take any risk to ensure Harry's victory and Voldemort's downfall. The four of them use the Time-Turner and travel back in time.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 8

Hermione blocks the Disarming Spell that Albus aims at Cedric, allowing Cedric to continue with the task as he did originally.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 9

As the group returns to the present, Ron experiences severe pain, and they find themselves outside and exposed. Dementors descend upon them. Hermione confesses her love to Ron, and they decide to stay and

distract the Dementors so that Snape and Scorpius can escape. They share a kiss before the Dementors consume their souls.

Snape and Scorpius walk together toward the lake, with Snape trying to calm Scorpius's fears. They encounter Umbridge along the way, who suspects Snape's involvement. Snape confirms her suspicions and engages in a fight, defeating Umbridge. Dementors begin descending once again, and Snape stays behind, sacrificing himself to allow Scorpius to escape into the lake. Snape screams as his soul is taken, and silence falls.

Scorpius emerges from the lake, accompanied by Albus, who is unaware of what has transpired. Scorpius had countered Albus's Engorgement Charm in the past, ensuring that events remained unchanged. Albus is confused by Scorpius's happiness at failing to alter the past. Before Scorpius can explain, Harry, Draco, Ginny, and McGonagall arrive and are greeted warmly by Scorpius, with Myrtle having informed them of the situation. Scorpius reveals that he has lost the Time-Turner, which annoys Albus and prompts McGonagall to demand an explanation.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 10

McGonagall is furious upon hearing all that the boys have done and assignsthem detention for the remainder of the year. Hermione arrives, and McGonagall expresses her anger towards the Minister for possessing the illegal Time-Turner. While acknowledging Albus's noble intentions to save Cedric, McGonagall emphasizes that bravery does not excuse recklessness. She scolds both the boys and the adults present, reminding them of the sacrifices made during the previous wizarding wars. McGonagall dismisses them all, instructing them to find the Time-Turner.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 11

Harry pays a visit to Albus in the Slytherin common room and asks him why he chose to save Cedric. Harry expresses his anger at Albus's recklessness, reminding him that Harry never volunteered for dangerous adventures. Albus shows remorse for his actions, and Harry apologizes

for keeping him separated from Scorpius. They both acknowledge that their issues go deeper than Albus being sorted into Slytherin.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 12

In a dream sequence, Aunt Petunia takes Harry to Godric's Hollow, the place where his parents lived and died. Contrary to Aunt Petunia's claims that Harry's parents had no friends, their graves are adorned with flowers. Aunt Petunia struggles to explain this to Harry, and Voldemort's voice is heard, stating that he senses guilt. Aunt Petunia quickly pulls Harry away as a cloaked Voldemort emerges from a gravestone. As Harry is pulled away, Voldemort asks him if he still sees with Voldemort's eyes. Harry exits the scene, and Albus bursts out from Voldemort's cloak, desperately reaching out to his father.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 13

Part 2, Act III, Scene 14

Scorpius wakes Albus in the Slytherin dormitory, and Albus is overjoyed to be back. His experiences have made him fearless and untroubled. He even attempted to hug Rose earlier, but she kicked him in response. Albus reflects on recent events and admits that he was motivated to prove something to Harry. Scorpius reveals that he had the Time-Turner with him all along and asks Albus to help him destroy it, ensuring that nobody else can manipulate time again.

Albus notices a tattoo of an Augurey, a bird associated with death, on the back of Delphini's neck, which intrigues him.

Part 2, Act III, Scene 17

Ron and Hermione are in Hermione's office, discussing their surprise at the existence of worlds where they are not married. Craig Bowker Jr. discovers them, but Delphini casually kills him. Delphini reveals that a prophecy predicts Voldemort's return with the Augurey by his side, involving "spares being spared, time being turned, and unseen children murdering their fathers." However, Delphini flies and catches up with them when they attempt to escape. Scorpius decides to defy Delphini and lays down hislife to break the prophecy. Delphini tortures him but is disarmed and bound by Cedric before she can kill him. Believing it to be part of the maze task, Cedric sets the boys free and continues on his way. Albus and Scorpius notice Delphini attempting to use the Time-Turner again and follow her as she turns back time. Part 2, Act III, Scene 21

Hermione gathers Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Draco at St. Oswald's and informs them that there is no record of Delphini's existence in the Ministry of Magic. They realize that she had used magic to pose as a nurse and pretend to be Amos's niece. They decide to investigate Delphini's room and discover a lamp chimney that speaks in Parseltongue. Harry, who can understand the language, realizes that it is saying, "Welcome Augurey."

Harry uses Parseltongue to command the lamp chimney to open, and the room undergoes a transformation. The walls are now adorned with painted snakes and contain the words of the prophecy. As they explore the room further, Ginny discovers another painting on the wall that reads, "I will rebirth the Dark. I will bring my father back." The group realizes that Delphini is Voldemort's daughter and that she is attempting to bring him back using Albus.

She explains that they have been unable to apprehend her because she possesses the Time-Turner. McGonagall expresses her disappointment in Hermione for keeping the Time-Turner, but Harry, Ginny, Draco, and Ron defend her, taking accountability for their collective failure to prevent Delphini from acquiring it. Albus and Scorpius find themselves at a train station in the Scottish Highlands, trying to gather more information about the time period they are in. They approach the station master for help, but the conversation turns out to be confusing. However, they manage to obtain a timetable that mentions the date. Albus deduces that it is the eve of Halloween in 1981, the day beforeHarry's parents were killed by Voldemort. They realize that Delphini is attempting to break the original prophecy by killing Harry herself, thereby altering the course of history.

Dumbledore advises Harry to be honest with those he loves and show them his pain. Before leaving the portrait, Harry finally tells Dumbledore that he loved him as well. Draco then enters the office and reveals that he also possesses a Time-Turner, which was secretly made as a collectible for his father. Draco had kept this a secret to avoid fueling rumors about Scorpius's parentage. Draco regrets sheltering Scorpius from the world, as it only led to further suspicion. He proposes using his Time-Turner to save Albus and Scorpius, but Harry informs him that they have no idea where the boys are.

Part 2, Act IV, Scene 5

In Godric's Hollow, Albus and Scorpius contemplate how to send a message to Harry about their whereabouts in time. Albus observes Lily wrapping baby Harry in a blanket, the same blanket that Harry still holds dear on every Halloween. Remembering how the blanket collided with the love potion during a previous incident, Albus devises a plan. He suggests using Pearl Dust, an ingredient from the love potion that burns when it comes into contact with another potion called Tincture of Demiguise. Since the Tincture is invisible, they decide to write a message on the blanket, which would remain invisible until it comes into contact with the love potion 39 years later. In the present, Harry would pick up the blanket and see the message. Albus and Scorpius set out to steal wands and gather the necessary ingredients to createthe potion.

In that moment, Harry picks up the blanket and notices burnt writing that says, "Dad. Help. Godric's Hollow," along with the date of Harry's parents' death. Ginny and Harry watch as Albus sleeps in a pew inside the church. Ginny reflects on a childhood memory when she was ostracized by others, but Harry showed her kindness. She believes that Albus needs the same kind of specific love from Harry, rather than his general willingness to sacrifice himself for the greater good. During their conversation about fatherhood, Ginny realizes the true reason Delphini chose this particular day in the past: Harry is already over a year old, and Delphini could have killed him at any point in his early life. She deduces that Delphini intends to reunite with her father, Voldemort, and prevent him from attacking Harry, which would have resulted in his downfall.
