
"Ward No. 6" is a story by A.P. Chekhov, published in 1892. In the center of the plot are five patients of the ward for the mentally ill and Dr. Andrei Efimich Ragin, who has just assumed the post of chief physician. Ragin needs to change the terrible conditions of the hospital, but he is unable to do this, since he is indifferent to the situation of the sick. Nevertheless, in ward no. 6 he finds like-minded people.
