"Mumu" is a story by Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev, published in 1854. The deaf and mute man Gerasim is a main character. He is a serf and he lives and works in the landlady`s house. One day he finds a dog, and he gives the name Mumu. The lady is extremely dissatisfied with this and she demands to get rid of the animal.
