"Home of the Gentry" is a novel by Ivan Turgenev, published in 1859. In the center of the plot is the nobleman Fyodor Ivanovich Lavretsky. His mother died early, so Lavretsky was raised by a tough aunt far from his father's house. Varvara Pavlovna becomes Lavretsky's wife.
