
"Fathers and Sons" is a novel by Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev, published in 1862. Evgeny Bazarov and Arkady Kirsanov are the main characters. They visit Kirsanov's father. Bazarov has difficulty in building relationships with the older generation, so young friends have to leave the father`s home. The new ideas preached by Bazarov remain incomprehensible to people of another generation. This novel was published during the great reforms in the Russian Empire, so it was received with great interest.
