"Demons" is a novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky, published in 1872. It is a reflection of the author's views on "Nechayevshchina" — the radical movement of Sergei Nechaev. The plot of the novel takes place in a provincial town: a young revolutionary Pyotr Verkhovensky is trying to attract supporters. He is also preparing the murder of the student who decided to retire from the affairs of the political movement of Verkhovensky.
