"The Adolescent" is a novel by F.M. Dostoevsky, published in 1875. The main character is a young man Arkady Dolgoruky. His main goal is to accumulate a lot of money, which will allow him to achieve power. He looks at his father, the nobleman Andrei Petrovich Versilov, but his formal father is Makar Dolgoruky, a courtyard, which greatly worries Arkady. Dostoevsky examines the problem of mutual understanding between generations through the relationship between Arkady and Versilov.
