Hunger (Hamsun novel) is a book by Norwegian author Knut Hamsun. The poor young man tries to earn money by writing texts for local newspapers, but the money is barely enough for food. Everything that he manages to get, he can give to the first comer. More important than survival seems to him only long reflections on difficult topics and conversations with strangers about various strange things.
