"The Baron in the Trees" is a postmodern novel by the Italian writer Italo Calvino. It was published in 1957. The main character, the boy Cosimo Piovasco di Rondò, does not agree with the fact that he is constantly served boiled snails for lunch, so he decides to spend the rest of his life in a tree.
