The Charterhouse of Parma is a novel by Stendhal, first published in 1839. This is the last novel of Stendhal. The novel's protagonist Fabrice del Dongo is a loyal fan of Napoleon and wants to fight along with him in the Battle of Waterloo when Napoleon returns from Elba. Of course, Fabrice is declared a traitor, and he decides to find his place in the church. He would not have taken this path, but life made this choice for him. And this is not the end of his adventures, as there are more surprises await him.
