«Armance» in French with a Parallel Translation

Armance is Stendhal's first novel, published in 1827. The family of the protagonist Octave de Malivert is fabulously wealthy, so the young man gets the attention of all the brides. Octave himself is attracted to Armance Zohiloff. The leitmotif of the novel is the idea of a hollow and sinister high society, amidst which the protagonist appears to be a true romantic.
