In 1892, Benito Perez Galdos published "Tristana", a novel that at one time was met with ambiguity because of the topic it touches on: the situation of women at the end of the nineteenth century.
Tristan is a story about the failed attempt of her protagonist to free himself. A young woman who is enslaved by her guardian, who disposes of her at his discretion, considering her his property, is subject to social oppression, which prevents a woman from developing her intellectual abilities.
