Hopscotch is a 1963 novel by the Argentine writer Julio Cortázar. This novel is an example of postmodernist literature, so that is why it is often referred to as a counter-novel. The protagonist, Horacio Oliveira, thinks about his life and his relationships with friends, acquaintances, and his sweetheart. Hopscotch has its own reading structure suggested by the author himself, so this story may end differently for each reader.
