The Mysterious Island is a robinsonade novel by Jules Verne. The novel was published in the Education and Entertainment Magazine from 1874 to 1875. The book is a sequel to famous In Search of the Castaways and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas. The heroes of the novel escaped from American captivity during the Civil War to a desert island. Having found themselves in unfamiliar conditions, they start exploring a new place making the use of all the knowledge and skills they have.
