«The Legend of Sleepy Hollow» in English with a Parallel Translation

Ichabod Crane is a schoolteacher who moved to Terry Town, in the Sleepy Hollow Valley, to educate young minds. Being a rather gullible and nervous young man, he was afraid of the local people's stories about ghosts, and therefore he was in a hurry, passing through the forest on his way home. One night, he sees a dark figure riding behind him on a horse and realizes that perhaps these are not just legends. The schoolmaster was never seen again in the valley.
