American Psycho is a novel by the American writer Bret Easton Ellis, published in 1991. The protagonist, businessman Patrick Bateman describes the murders he commits for no special reason. They are not systematic, it is even doubtful that he enjoys them, but all of them are extremely sophisticated and ghastly.
