Every Man Dies Alone or Alone in Berlin is a novel by German author Hans Fallada. The novel was first published in 1947. It is based on the true story of a married couple Otto and Elise Hampel. Acting alone, they became part of the German Resistance. Fallada's book was one of the first anti-Nazi novels to be published by a German after World War II.
